ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Arlene Wandera was born in Nairobi and raised in London. She studied at Camberwell College of Arts and the Slade School of Fine Art, London.
Arlene’s practice is driven by observation. She places herself in different situations or locations in order to observe, collect stories and document her immediate world. These observations are infused with her bi-cultural understanding to instigate works that engage in the debate of identity, political awareness, social etiquette and multiculturalism.
Her work aspires to enter into a dialogue with the audience.
To shine a light to what we all see or choose not to see; the unspoken realm in our daily lives.
